Can also use the deamidated form; nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NaMN) as substrate to form deamido-NAD(+) (NaAD). Key enzyme in both de novo and salvage pathways for NAD(+) biosynthesis. Predominantly acts in the salvage pathways via NMN. Homotetramer.
