DESCRIPTION

Also known as DYHG_CHLRE, ODA2, ODA-2. Force generating protein of eukaryotic cilia and flagella. Produces force towards the minus ends of microtubules. Dynein has ATPase activity; the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP. Consists of at least 3 heavy chains (alpha, beta and gamma), 2 intermediate chains and 8 light chains.
