Also known as PRPF_SHEON, prpF. Involved in the catabolism of short chain fatty acids (SCFA) via the 2-methylcitrate cycle II (propionate degradation route). PrpF catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of 2-methyl-aconitate through a base-catalyzed proton abstraction coupled with a rotation about C2-C3 bond of 2-methyl-aconitate. Homodimer.
