Also known as RN217_HUMAN, RNF217, C6orf172, IBRDC1, OSTL. E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase which accepts ubiquitin from E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates. Mediates the degradation of the iron exporter ferroportin/SLC40A1 and thus regulates iron homeostasis. Interacts with HAX1.
