Also known as LMBL3_HUMAN, L3MBTL3, KIAA1798, MBT1. Putative Polycomb group (PcG) protein. PcG proteins maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of genes, probably via a modification of chromatin, rendering it heritably changed in its expressibility. Required for normal maturation of myeloid progenitor cells (By similarity). Interacts with RNF2 (By similarity). Interacts (via SAM domain) with SAMD1 (via SAM domain); the interaction mediates L3MBTL3 binding to chromatin (PubMed:33980486).
