Also known as MTG2_HUMAN, MTG2, GTPBP5, OBGH1. Plays a role in the regulation of the mitochondrial ribosome assembly and of translational activity. Displays GTPase activity. Involved in the ribosome maturation process. Associates with the mitochondrial ribosome large subunit; the association occurs in a GTP-dependent manner.
