DESCRIPTION

Also known as MET17_HUMAN, METTL17, METT11D1. Probable S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent RNA methyltransferase required to stabilize the mitochondrial small ribosomal subunit (mt-SSU). Required for protein translation in mitochondria. Interacts with mitochondrial small ribosomal subunit (mt-SSU) subunits MRPS15 and MRPS27.
