DESCRIPTION

Also known as S27A6_HUMAN, SLC27A6, ACSVL2, FACVL2, FATP6. Involved in translocation of long-chain fatty acids (LFCA) across the plasma membrane. Thought to function as the predominant fatty acid protein transporter in heart (PubMed:12556534). Has acyl-CoA ligase activity for long-chain and very-long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs) (By similarity).
