Also known as VFLIP_HHV8P, ORF71. Plays a role in the modulation of host signaling pathways by acting as an activator of both the classic and the alternative NF-kappa-B pathways. Thereby, initiates an important range of cellular processes to promote cell survival, proliferation and protection from apoptosis. Interacts with host RIPK1, TRAF2, MAP3K14, IKBKB, and IKBKG. Interacts with host CADM1; this interaction is essential for chronic NF-kappa-B activation.
