Also known as STU1_YEAST, STU1. Microtubule binding protein that promotes the stabilization of dynamic microtubules. Required for separation of the spindle poles during mitotic spindle formation. May cross-link overlapping antiparallel microtubules in the spindle midzone. Self-associates. Interacts with microtubules via the TUB2 subunit.
