DESCRIPTION

Also known as IPI3_SCHPO, crb3, ipi3. Required for both pre-rRNA processing and heterochromatic gene silencing., Component of the RIX1 complex required for processing of ITS2 sequences from 35S pre-rRNA. Component of the RIX1 complex, composed of ipi1, rix1/ipi2 and crb3/ipi3 in a 1:2:2 stoichiometry. The complex interacts (via rix1) with mdn1 (via its hexameric AAA ATPase ring) and the pre-60S ribosome particles (By similarity). Interacts with rix1, gcr3 and Las1 (PubMed:21385875).
