ORGANISM
Staphylococcus aureus (strain COL)
DESCRIPTION
Also known as FNBA_STAAC, fnbA. Promotes bacterial attachment to multiple substrates, such as fibronectin (Fn), fibrinogen (Fg), elastin peptides and tropoelastin. This confers to S.aureus the ability to invade endothelial cells. Promotes adherence to and aggregation of activated platelets (By similarity).
