Also known as EDC3_HUMAN, EDC3, LSM16, YJDC, YJEFN2. Binds single-stranded RNA. Involved in the process of mRNA degradation and in the positive regulation of mRNA decapping. May play a role in spermiogenesis and oogenesis. Homodimer (via YjeF N-terminal domain). Forms a complex with DCP1A, DCP2, DDX6 and EDC4/HEDLS, within this complex directly interacts with DCP1A and DDX6 (PubMed:16364915, PubMed:31422817, PubMed:19285948, PubMed:31439631). Interacts with ZFP36.
