Also known as GPVI_HUMAN, GP6. Collagen receptor involved in collagen-induced platelet adhesion and activation. Plays a key role in platelet procoagulant activity and subsequent thrombin and fibrin formation. This procoagulant function may contribute to arterial and venous thrombus formation. The signaling pathway involves the FcR gamma-chain, the Src kinases (likely FYN or LYN) and SYK, the adapter protein LAT and leads to the activation of PLCG2. Associated with Fc receptor gamma chain. The GPVI:FcRgamma complex is associated with the Src kinase family FYN and LYN (PubMed:10961879, PubMed:9295288). Interacts with TRAF4 (PubMed:20946164). Interacts with COL1A1, but not with COL4A4 (By similarity).
