DESCRIPTION

Also known as PAT_ARATH, PAT, AAT, MEE17. Prokaryotic-type aspartate aminotransferase. Has also a prenate transaminase activity. Involved in the aromatic amino acids biosynthesis pathway via the arogenate route. Required for the transamination of prephenate into arogenate. Required for early development of the embryo. Homodimer.
